Three postdoctoral researcher positions are available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Hong-Yuan Chu, Department of Neurodegenerative Science, Van Andel Institute, Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA (https://chulab.vai.org). The laboratory studies the pathogenesis and pathophysiology of Parkinson’s disease at the molecular, cellular, and neural circuitry levels, using multidisciplinary technologies, for example, electrophysiology, optogenetics, chemogenetics, in vivo miniature microscope, and animal behavioral assays. These positions are funded by NIH R01 grant and generous supports from private foundations. Postdoctoral fellows will work in a highly interdisciplinary environment that allows close interaction with a world-class Parkinson’s research community at VARI (https://vari.vai.org/neurodegenerative-science/). The successful candidates will have the access to excellent postdoctoral supports and career development workshops (https://vari.vai.org/postdoctoral/). Salary will be competitive.
· A Ph.D. or equivalent degree, in Neuroscience, Physiology, Pharmacology, or Biomedical engineering.
· Prior experience with brain slice electrophysiology, in vivo imaging/electrophysiology, or in vivo optogenetics and mouse behavior.
