Welcome

John Durocher 2018-19 President

Thank you for visiting our Michigan Physiological Society (MPS) website. The mission of the MPS is “To enhance and advance the field of physiology and unite physiologists within the state of Michigan.” We have held five annual meetings and look forward to our sixth annual meeting next June, at Central Michigan University. The MPS is a great place for high-school students through postdoctoral researchers to promote and present their research, and to gain outstanding interactive experience with others from around the state.

Our annual meetings offer opportunities for oral and poster presentations from trainees, and important networking for all attendees. We have had outstanding keynote speakers each year, along with breakout sessions, and have more recently added interactive teacher workshops. We welcome members in several categories from trainees through Emeritus status, and provide a very affordable and effective option for professional development. Our society greatly values research, teaching and outreach activities related to the field of physiology. Please reach out to me, or any of our executive team members, if you have any comments or questions about the MPS. We hope to see you at our sixth annual meeting!

Sincerely,

John J. Durocher, PhD, ACSM EP-C, CSCS President, Michigan Physiological Society Michigan Technological University
